Athletes:

 

 

Who is eligible to participate in Special Olympics  ? :  You must be at least 8 years old and identified by an agency or profesional as having an intellectual disability or have closely related developmental disabilities such as those who have functional limitations both in general learning and in adaptive skil. There is no maximum age limitation for participation.

 

How does an Athlete register to participate ?: A simple midical and release for  is required for each athlete. A physician signs the medical form and the guardian of a minor or adult signs the release form.

 

What Sports are offered by SOVC? : Special Olympics Vanderburgh County offers the following sports:

 

Summer: Softball

Fall : Bowling, Swimming Relays

Winter: Basketball

Spring: Track and Field, Individual swimming, Boccee* and Horseshoes*

*must be at least 30 years of age to participate

 

How much does it cost to participate in Special Olympics ? : All Special Olympics programs are free to eligible athletes. Due to to generous support from individuals and businesses that believe in Special Olympics athletes. Special Olympics receives no federal funds, and is supported almost exclusively from Individuals , organizations, corporations and foundations.

 

 

A medical form and a registration form are required for participation on Special Olympics !
